…..play an essential part in a child’s development. Social skills are developed as children enjoy their meals with their Key Persons, talk together and learn good manners and concern for each other. Handling cutlery aids development of manipulative skills.
Our food is supplied by Sainsbury’s and a local Farm Shop and children see-and smell-their food being cooked by our full-time cook, Paul, in our kitchen. They are encouraged to thank him for their meal.
Lunch is a two-course meal and the menu is available to parents. Favourite meals include roast meats, gammon ham, fish pie, casseroles, pasta bakes and spaghetti bolognese. Tea is a light meal which we have to serve early ( around 3.45pm) as many parents collect their children shortly after 4pm. It is likely that children will need something else to eat before bedtime.
We cater for dietary requirements as advised by parents. To ensure nutritious food is cooked to a high standard, a record book is kept by staff who comment on the meal and how popular it was with the children.
